2009 Mid Tenn Rugby Conference All-Star Match

5/09 This past Saturday at Sunset Middle School the MTRC District 1 All-Stars played the District 2 All-Stars, in a match that went down to the final play with District 1 winning 7-5.

It was a very warm & sunny Saturday with a great turn out of players and fans.  District 1 got on the scoreboard in the first 10 minutes and with just minutes to go before halftime, District 2 sticks one in the corner.

The players and fans were entertained at halftime with a scrimmage between MTSU and Nashville RFC 7's player having a 7 minute half.

In the second half play went up and down the field with both teams showing off the skills that they developed this past season, and it was exciting for everyone.  With two minutes to go District 2 pounded the D-1 goal line time after time but failed to cross.  On the last play of the match D-2 had a penalty 10 meters out and 5 meters in from the sideline and chose to try to tap and score and were taken out of bounds on the final play 3 meters short of a win.

After the match a group photo was taken with all player & coaches and will be posted on the web site in the days to come.

Outstanding job by everyone this past season and now its on to 7's.
